The BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee app was a large, complex project that required constant updates and additions to meet business goals. I worked with a cross-disciplinary team to discover and prioritize improvements, which I then created design solutions for. With feedback from product owners and user experience research, I iterated on these designs to reach an ideal balance between the needs of both our users and stakeholders.
In the below example, a new tiered product was being sold to BCBST customers. Our customers had no prior understanding of what this would mean for them, and so not only did I need to solve for how to display this addition in the app but also how to educate in a non disruptive manner. The app team's chosen solutions for the tiered product had extremely promising results, with UX research showing that after spending a small amount of time in the app the majority of our users went from feeling "confused" about tiered providers to having a "good understanding."
